Saint George was a Roman soldier and a member of the imperial guard of Emperor Diocletian. As a devout Christian, he refused to renounce his faith, which ultimately led to his martyrdom. He became one of the most revered saints. He is famous for the legend in which he slays a dragon and rescues a princess, symbolizing the triumph of faith over evil.
