BIOGRAPHY:
Saint James the Less was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus and is often identified as James, the son of Alphaeus. He is mentioned multiple times in the Holy Scriptures, though details about his life remain unclear. St. James is believed to be a relative of Jesus and possibly the brother of the apostle Jude Thaddeus. After Christ's resurrection, he played a significant role in the early Church and, according to tradition, was the first Bishop of Jerusalem. He was known for his asceticism and deep faith. He suffered martyrdom by being thrown from the temple and then stoned to death.
