BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Jodokus, also known as Josse or Judoc, was a Breton prince who lived in the 7th century. He renounced the throne to live as a hermit and pilgrim. After being ordained a priest, he withdrew into solitude in northern France, where he founded a monastery and dedicated himself to prayer and charity. St. Jodokus was venerated after his death, especially by pilgrims traveling to Santiago de Compostela. His relics were kept in the Abbey of Saint-Josse-sur-Mer, which became an important pilgrimage site.
