BIOGRAPHY:
Blessed John Dominici was born in Florence in 1356 and entered the Dominican Order at an early age. Despite initial difficulties in his studies due to a speech impediment, he developed into a respected theologian and preacher. He was particularly committed to the reform of the order and the preservation of Christian teaching, founding several monasteries, including the famous monastery of Fiesole, where the well-known painter Fra Angelico worked. As a close advisor to Pope Gregory XII, he played a key role in the Western Schism and defended the unity of the Church. He died in 1419 in Hungary and was beatified in 1832 by Pope Gregory XVI.
