BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Vigilius of Trent was the Bishop of Trent in the late 4th century. He was born into a noble Roman family and received an excellent education in Athens. Upon returning to Italy, he was consecrated Bishop of Trent and worked actively to Christianize the region. He carried out missionary activities and opposed pagan worship. According to tradition, Saint Vigilius suffered martyrdom after destroying pagan religious objects and was subsequently stoned by an angry crowd. His tomb is in Trent, and he is considered one of the most important saints of the region.
