BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Bernardine Realino was born in 1530 in Carpi, Italy. He studied law and philosophy in Modena and Bologna and had a successful career as a lawyer and public administrator. However, at the age of 34, he decided to join the Society of Jesus and became a priest. He worked mainly in Lecce, where he was a highly regarded preacher and confessor. His life was marked by humility, devotion, and care for the poor and sick. He remained in Lecce until his death in 1616 and was venerated as a saint.
