BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Catherine came from Alexandria (Egypt) and was of noble origin. Thanks to the extensive education she enjoyed, she had the skills to study the philosophy and writings of important thinkers. Her conversion to Christianity is very special. She criticized the Roman emperor Maxentius for his persecution of Christians. Impressed by her eloquence, he brought together 50 of his best philosophers to dissuade her from her faith. Contrary to all expectations, Catherine converted the philosophers, who were martyred as a result. As she did not let go of her convictions, she was sentenced to death on wheels. However, this failed and so her fate was sealed with the sword.
