BIOGRAPHY:
St. Christopher is one of the most well-known saints and the patron of travelers. There is little historical evidence about his life, but legend tells that he was originally named Reprobus, a giant of immense strength. Seeking the mightiest ruler, he first served a king and then the devil before meeting a hermit who directed him to Christ. As penance, St. Christopher carried travelers across a dangerous river. One day, he bore a child who grew heavier with every step-this was Christ, who revealed that Christopher was carrying the weight of the world. After this event, Christopher converted and preached the Gospel until he was martyred.
