BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Elfrida came from Arras in northern France. Together with two friends, Edith and Sabina, she went on a pilgrimage to Rome. They were attacked and murdered by Normans. Her death in 819 marked her as a martyr.

St. Elfrida is the patron saint of pilgrims and travelers.
