BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Odlie, born in Palermo (Sicily), was born blind, which at the time was considered a sign of misfortune or a punishment from God. Her father therefore cast her out immediately after her birth, which is why she found refuge in a convent. There she is said to have miraculously regained her sight when she was baptized by the Bishop of Regensburg. She later founded the Hohenburg monastery on the Odilienberg and the Niedermünster monastery.

PATRONAGE:
St. Odlie is the patron saint of the sick and blind and of good eyesight.
