BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Imelda, born in Bologna (Italy), expressed the wish to receive Holy Communion at the age of five. However, this was only possible at the age of fourteen. At the age of nine, she entered the Dominican convent in Val di Pietra, where she experienced a miraculous event on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption. A host floated above her head while she was deep in prayer. The priest saw this and gave her communion, after which she died a short time later with a smile on her lips.
