BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Isabelle was born the daughter of King Louis VIII and Queen Blanca of Castile and thus into the French royal family. This background had a decisive influence on her future life. Among other things, she founded the Poor Clare convent of Longchamp near Paris. She also worked closely with her brother Louis IX on various religious and political projects, making her a mediator and peacemaker.
