BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Roman of Condat was a French monk and hermit who, together with his brother Lupicinus, founded the monastery of Condat (now Saint-Claude). He initially lived as a hermit in the Jura Mountains but soon attracted a community of monks. He was known for his humility and ascetic way of life. Under his leadership, the monastery of Condat flourished and became an important spiritual center. After his death, he was venerated as a saint, especially in the Burgundy region.
