BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Rosalia, born in Palermo (Sicily), appears in numerous legends due to the lack of information about her life. The best known of these is said to have occurred during a severe plague epidemic. She appeared to the inhabitants of Palermo and led them to the mountain grotto where her remains were found. The discovery and the subsequent procession are said to have put an end to the plague.

St. Rosalia is the patron saint of Palermo and the hermits. She also protects against plague, epidemics and diseases.
