BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Ruth, born in Moab (modern-day Jordan), is best known for her relationship with her mother-in-law Noemi, which is why her story was recorded in the Book of Ruth in the Bible. Her husband died young and so she decided to stay with his mother. Together they returned to Bethlehem, where Ruth worked for a relative of Noemi's and married him. This is how she became the great-grandmother of King David, thus also entering the direct line of Jesus Christ.
