Saint Walburga, born in Devonshire (England), accompanied her uncle Boniface and her brothers to Germany to promote the Christianization of the country. In Heidenheim, she became abbess of the double monastery founded by her brother. After his death, she also took over the management of the men's monastery, a polarizing event at the time.
