BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Joanna-Maria of Maillé was born in Saint-Roch (France) as the daughter of the Baron of Maillé. She devoted herself to caring for the sick and needy during the plague epidemic. After the death of her husband Robert von Sillé, she retired to the Franciscan convent in Tours. Her spiritual life and charitable contributions earned her great respect and popularity among both rich and poor alike.
