BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Albin was born around 470 in Vannes, France. From an early age, he devoted himself to monastic life, joining the monastery of Tincillac, where he became known for his piety and strict discipline. He later became abbot of the monastery and, in 529, was appointed Bishop of Angers. As a bishop, St. Albin fought for moral reforms within the Church and society, standing against abuses and defending the oppressed. He strongly opposed forced marriages and aided the poor. Many miracles are attributed to him. He died in 550 and was buried in the Cathedral of Angers, which soon became a site of pilgrimage.
