BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Joan of Arc was born in Domrémy (France). At the age of 13, she heard visions of St. Michael the Archangel calling her to support France in the Hundred Years' War against England and to help the Dauphin Charles VII to the throne. At the age of 17, she was given a small force with which she successfully fought numerous battles. These included the Battle of Orléans in 1429, known as the turning point in the Hundred Years' War. A year later, she was arrested and burned at the stake.
