BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Magdalen, born in Kaufbeuren (Bavaria) as the daughter of a wool weaver, entered the Franciscan convent despite her humble origins and without the necessary dowry. The Protestant mayor supported her. Maria took the religious name Crescentia (the growing one). Initially, she suffered a great deal of ridicule from her fellow nuns due to her origins. However, thanks to mystical visions and her spiritual leadership, she was able to rise to higher offices until she was finally elected superior. Her role as an advisor to high-ranking personalities in the worldly sphere is also interesting. People from many parts of Europe sought her advice.
