BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Boniface of Lausanne was born around 1183 in Brussels and joined the Premonstratensian Order. He studied theology in Paris and became known for his vast knowledge. In 1231, he was appointed Bishop of Lausanne, where he worked to reform the clergy and strengthen church discipline. However, due to conflicts with local princes and opposition to his reforms, he resigned in 1239 and retired to an abbey, where he spent the rest of his life in prayer. He passed away around 1265 and was later venerated as a saint.
