BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Meinhard of Hersfeld, also known as Saint Meinhard, was a Benedictine monk and the first abbot of the Hersfeld monastery in Hesse, Germany. He was appointed by Lullus, the Archbishop of Mainz, to lead the newly established monastery. Under his leadership, the monastery became a significant religious and cultural center. Meinhard died on January 14, 1088.
