BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Therese, born in Alençon (France), lost her mother at the age of four. At the age of 15, she entered the Carmelite convent, where she lived until her death. Her concept of a "small" way of life was based on the idea that small acts of love and humility brought one closer to God. This thesis was recorded in her autobiography "Story of a Soul", which contributed to her canonization in 1925.
